Bintang timnas Indonesia itu menyelamatkan timnya dari kekalahan lewat gol yang dikemas pada babak pertama melawan Stevenage dalam lanjutan League Two (divisi III Liga Inggris) di Priestfield Stadium, Gillingham Kent, Sabtu (15/10/2022).
Elkan mencetak gol penyeimbang di menit ke-40' pada laga lanjutan League Two. Sebelumnya, Stevenage yang saat ini memuncaki klasemen, membuka gol pada menit ke-28' melalui Danny Rose.
Namun kedua tim sama-sama kesulitan menciptakan peluang berbahaya. The Gills -julukan Gillingham- kemudian kecolongan lebih dulu di menit 28. Usai melakukan berbagai upaya, tim tamu berhasil unggul lebih dulu melalui gol yang dicetak Danny Rose.

Beruntung tembakan Jordan Roberts masih melebar tipis. Memasuki menit 84, giliran Gillingham yang membalas dengan peluang berbahaya lainnya. Gillingham nyaris berbalik unggul lewat tandukan Lewis Walker. Namun tandukan tersebut mampu digagalkan penjaga gawang Stevenage, Taye-Ashby Hammond.
Memasuki menit-menit terakhir, Elkan kembali ikut naik membantu serangan. Pergerakan tanpa bola Elkan membuat pemain Stevenage melakukan pelanggaran. Namun sayang Gillingham gagal memanfaatkan situasi tendangan bebas tersebut. Skor imbang 1-1 pun bertahan hingga laga usai.
