Spektrum-nasional.com || Presiden JokoWidodo membuka Pertemuan Para Pemimpin ASEAN dengan Perwakilan PemudaASEAN atau ASEAN Youth di Komodo Ballroom, Meruorah Convention Center, Labuan Bajo, Kabupaten Manggarai Barat, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT), Rabu, 10 Mei 2023. Pertemuan tersebut digelar dalam rangkaian Konferensi Tingkat Tinggi (KTT) ke-42 ASEAN tahun 2023.
Dalam sambutannya, Presiden Jokowimengaku senang dapat bertemu dengan generasi muda ASEAN. Presiden Jokowi menaruh harapan besar pada Generasi Muda ASEAN yang memiliki energi positif, ide kreatif, dan inovatif untuk meneruskan keberlangsungan kawasan sebagai pusat pertumbuhan.
"Kami berharap peran besar Generasi Muda ASEAN untuk keberlangsungan Asia Tenggara sebagai kawasan yang stabil dan damai, serta menjadi epicentrum of growth," ujar Presiden.
Menurut Presiden Jokowi, ASEAN memiliki modal kuat untuk mencapai hal tersebut, antara lain ekonomi yang tumbuh baik di atas rerata dunia. Selain itu, stabilitas di kawasan ASEAN juga terjaga, serta jumlah generasi muda ASEAN yang mencapai 34 persen dari total populasi.
"Oleh sebab itu, GenerasiMudaASEAN perlu merumuskan langkah-langkah terbaik untuk memaksimalkan potensi tersebut," tandasnya.
Pada pertemuan tersebut, delegasi pemuda yang mewakili Indonesia adalah Raihan Zahirah Mauludy Ridwan dan Zafran Akhmadery Arif. Pada akhir sesi, Raihan bersama perwakilan pemuda Laos, Phothideth Sensathith, menyampaikan hasil rekomendasi delegasi Pemuda ASEAN kepada para pemimpin ASEAN
Turut mendampingi Presiden Jokowi dalam pertemuan tersebut yakni Menteri Luar Negeri Retno Marsudi dan Menteri Sekretaris Negara Pratikno.
